About the Founders

Backgrounds - Brent Truitt was born in Prince Rupert, British Columbia (Canada) August 6th, 1963, and Betty Truitt was born March 24th, 1961 in Saskatoon, Sask (Canada). Their current primary residence is in Calgary, Alberta (Lake Bonavista). They travel 3-4 months of the year working anywhere there is an Internet connection.

Brent and Betty were airline employees from October 1990 to May of 2003, until they were both layed off due to base closures and the restructuring of Air Canada. Brent was a fully licensed and endorsed aircraft engineer, and Betty was a flight attendant and aircraft groomer. Both had grown tired of the long hours of shift work and commuting, and wanted a different lifestyle. By May 2003 they were looking for a better way.

Dawn of Their Internet Business - Brent began studying the technical aspects of managing dynamic web properties in early 2003 and quickly began launching web sites and blogs for purely experimental purposes - to test the criteria of a successful web property - and created a reasonable online income. His first goal was only $1500 a month in residual income. Soon after these tests he began employing the Google Adsense program for creating a consistent flow of profit.

In early 2005 Brent and Betty began focusing their attention on income generating business blogs. They tested all of the different blogging platforms and made a decision to focus on the Wordpress blogging platform. Brent then started to customize the Wordpress platform, testing dozens of themes and templates for the maximum click through rates, boosting their Adsense income via visitor conversion.

Selling Picks and Shovels OR Making a Full Time Living From Web Traffic - When so many online entrepreneurs were selling the "Picks and Shovels" (tools, software, and ebooks) to hopefuls seeking an online income, Brent and Betty focused on making a full time living from their web properties. To further the Gold Mining metaphor, they spent their time out in the hills and the mountains working hard to find gold and then mine it. They HAD to succeed in order to pay their bills.

In late 2006 Brent and Betty were making over $12,000 USD a month from all of their different web properties. They did not sell hosting, templates, themes, and the like - they were making their money SOLEY from running web properties. Family and friends who noticed the lifestyle Brent and Betty were living - with what seemed to be a perpetual holiday - were curious/anxious to learn the art of generating an online income from web traffic. Brent has been helping family and friends get started with their online ventures free of charge since 2006. Urged by his wife Betty and others to begin selling a service providing others with an online business, he created Turnkeybiz.net. In 2010 it was moved to Turnkeybizblog.com

Happy Clients - The initial customers for Turnkeybiz.net were based on referral only, as Brent and Betty still had to run their own web properties. With the success of dozens of extremely happy customers, and a streamlined process, their service is sought after by online entrepreneurs.

To ensure customer satisfaction and quality control, Brent and Betty decided to provide business blogs in such a way that their customers would have a web property every bit as powerful as their own. They launch each customer's business blog the same as their own - with special attention on the technology used and the content within the web site.

Quality Control - Slot Based Services - To ensure quality control Brent and Betty decided to keep a limited number of employees in their new service model.
